Taranaki Multi - Ethnic Extravaganza A Hugely Successful Event 19.3.2005

Crowd 'wowed' by Madiba Jivers

So, what exactly  is the Taranaki Multi - ethnic Extravaganza, and  who are the myriad of performers like the South African/Taranaki Based dancing group just fresh on the block, 'Madiba Jivers' on the left, who incidentally delivered such a strong performance that the crowd were literally "wowed" out of their seats.  In a nutshell - 'Its an event that is such a wonderfully spirited and entertaining Multi Ethnic day that I doubt anyone could walk away unhappy'

Entertainment plus

The largest Multi-ethnic event in New Zealand, grown from embryo stage,  all cultures assemble together, drawn from all over the country,  the dancing is wonderful, different tastes of food are available, new experiences, but most of all a bridge of friendship and understanding is built.

This event is held in the Yarrows stadium amongst flying colored flags, a photographers delight, along with yummy differing culture food, including Kiwi,  to wine tasting, to new ice cream flavours, and free body shop applied personally creams, 'wow' [I got face sprayed] to freshen up J -  an unbelievable day that is almost free, a gold coin is asked for at the entrance gate, which goes to a chosen charity,  but in all, a day for anyone to enjoy at such a low cost,  it is admirable that all these groups, stallholders and people can manage without major funding, absolutely brilliant, an event not to be missed.

THE TARANAKI MULT-ETHNIC EXTRAVAGANZA

2005

To start the day the street parade is just wonderful, starting in the main street of New Plymouth,  [I note that the effort that goes into it is stunning] . This Extravaganza winds up at Yarrow Stadium  with such wonderful entertainment that will fill anyone's day with delight. Walk around and inspect the stalls, grab a bite to eat from a myriad of tastes and settle back into the grandstand to be entertained by world cultures displaying singing, dancing, watch the littlies join the adults on stage, it blends from humour to enthralling.

Roll on next Multi - ethnic Extravaganza, I for one can't wait.

An event for young, old and everyone in-between, especially families, I cannot express enough how enjoyable this event is & certainly growing in popularity, and so it should, congratulations to all.
