Well here was a happy bunch at the Opunake fair day, Steph Langton was serving Gill O'Connell and Vanessa Smith was manning the barbeque, Just love those OPUNAKE painted faces.

Well one thing was guaranteed at the fair was more and more painted faces meet the little cuties Taylah Smith, Eva and Breanna Langton,

'Ladies Lakeside Lions stall' was attended by Colleen Symes and Jocelyn Kroll, originally from South Africa now residing in 'community spirited' Opunake, welcome to Taranaki Jocelyn, with them was Lynda Patterson and puppy dog 'Gidget'

Two Members of the Local Country and Western Club are Jean Lowe and Mary Mundell, and quite the characters they are, as I was later to find out, hello again girls....Lila Smith.

From 'Classic Car Highway 45 Cruises Car Club' come Mike and Julie Walsh with daughter Brittany, and with them are Tom Chapman and Greg Roach..

Now I cheated here, on the wall of Coastal Cafe was a pic of celebrity Emmerline Hawthorne actress from 'Shortland St' visiting Opunake last summer, did I mention that Tom Cruise was here last summer also living on Surf Hwy 45.

Cruisin on through Opunake was Steve Taylor, Merv & Jenny Howlett and Joanne Harvey all of Matakana and Lynne & John Mitchell of Whitianga, how was the accommodation guys?      Lila.

Very fit bods these were for this event, the Opunake Open Bike Race 52 km long, here were three competitors, meet Russell Mudgeway and Kevin Lock of Hawera with them was Aaron Herewini of Waitara.

Stephen Brungan of Hawera was enjoying a day out with children Benjamin, Joshua and Chenoa at the Opunake Beach which is quite a renowned holiday spot and the International and local      surfers love it,

Now we are headed to the Opunake country and western day, meet Joan Perrett of the Opunake club, who organized a fantastic day for Northern New Zealand visitors and what is more the food was absolutely yummy.

New Plymouth Rhinestone Country and Western Club visitors were Coral Adlam, Edith Bishall, Laurice Jordan, and Hine Patu, who sang her heart out so well on the day for such a young girl.

From Helensville to the Opunake country and western day came singers, from Left, Heather Holland, Rhonda Fullam, Joy Healy and Graham McCardle, boy could they sing..........

Country and western Whangarei visitors on the day were Gwen Sheppard and Margaret & Clive Cairn, I am sure the visitors agree that Opunake put on a fine day.

Meet Whiona Howden-larsen, who traveled with the people from Hellensville, I am sure that Whiona would agree that the day was fantastic, all thanks goes to the Opunake hosts.

From Waitara came a singing family Mr & Mrs Jocelyn and Lenny Kilpatrick and with them Little Nikki, who I have heard sing before, a Taranaki up and coming star maybe, along with Hine Patu?

All the way from Papakura came the littlest singer that any parents would be proud of, meet tiny Tutjana Wirimu, she sang so well and captured the hearts of many...........

 Right on the Taranaki surf highway 45 coast line that greets the Tasman sea,  and perched under our mighty mountain, with beaches that many Taranaki people have grown to love and ex-pats would remember well, half way between Hawera and New Plymouth. Locals are only too happy to see you enjoy your stay, with friendly greetings and a smile that costs you nothing, and excellent fish N' Chips. thankyou Opunake.
